Katie
applied mindfulness teacher & coach, educator
Welcome. 🙏 A deep bow to you and your heart...
I’m Katie, and I am so grateful that you’re here— exploring mindfulness, prioritizing your well-being, and investigating the deepest truths of who you are.
It is my joy and honor to serve as a teacher and coach of mindfulness and holistic wellbeing. Over the past decade and a half, I have worked in international schools teaching mindfulness meditation, self-care, social-emotional skills, and the principles of happiness based on Positive Psychology — empowering students, parents, support staff, and educators.
Since childhood, I've been fascinated by the human mind, the nature of reality, and the mysteries of life itself. This lifelong curiosity, paired with years of meditation, self-inquiry, and professional study, has led to a journey of immense inner transformation—one that continues to unfold every day. I’ve come to understand that a dedication to ‘seeing clearly’ and cultivating heartful compassion are two secrets to a life of authentic happiness.
Each morning, I revisit my core intention of living with an awakened heart... The truth is that while it is simple, it is not always easy. Having companions and guidance on the path makes all the difference.
I hold a Master’s in Educational Psychology and am a graduate of MMTCP under the mentorship of renowned Buddhist teachers and psychologists, Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield. While primarily trained in the lineages of Insight Meditation Society, Plum Village, and the Thai Forest Tradition, I draw knowledge from many global philosophies and recognize that profound insights are woven into every culture. I’ve lived in Southeast Asia for the past 9 years, where I have had the privilege of attending many extended, silent retreats and meditation courses, as well as the opportunity to be surrounded by Buddhism in its most alive forms.
I am currently completing my Diploma of Counselling from the Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors to continue broadening my knowledge of psychological theory and applied practice, as well as a specialized certificate program from the Institute of Meditation and Psychotherapy, in partnership with The Barre Center for Buddhist Studies and Harvard Medical School.
Through nearly a decade and a half in international education, I have worked with hundreds of children, young people, and their families — across cultures, developmental needs, and emotional landscapes. This breadth of experience has given me something no training can offer — an intimate ability to read people well, sense what is needed, to differentiate my approach, and to find what gets them unstuck. Perhaps most importantly, it has shown me how to connect with the most tender part of us all: our inner child.
My Master's research — a culminating meta-analysis on mindfulness in education — marked the beginning of my formal academic study of contemplative practice and its application to human development. It confirmed what I had already witnessed in classrooms: that when we teach people to work with their own minds early, we spare them years of being ruled by patterns that keep us unhappy.
As a Mindfulness & Wellbeing Coordinator, I have trained with Mindful Schools, Responsive Classroom, and Positive Education, been invited as a speaker for the Global Mindfulness in Education Summit, consulted for educators and schools from Argentina to Vietnam, and have led a multitude of professional development courses for staff in both personal and school-wide mindfulness training.

Mindfulness is a fundamental mechanism for a thriving life, and an incredible catalyst for change. Through mindfulness, we expand our capacity to embrace what is and make wiser choices from a place of spaciousness. Slowly, we loosen our limiting beliefs and learn to become the architect of our own inner world. Research has shown again and again that our minds quite literally shape our reality. This cognitive training is complemented by learning to listen to the body’s innate wisdom—understanding that slowing down and taking care of ourselves is, in itself, a radical act in today’s fast, attention-driven world.
My aspiration is to co-create a world where compassion and connection lead the way. By drawing inspiration and humility from nature and her cycles, we can remember that we are here only as temporary, sacred guests, and we can loosen the grip of our attachments. Knowing the truth of our interconnectedness allows us to touch the essence of shared humanity. I believe that it is only from this space that we can create a lasting, more harmonious world together.
My passion is to share these transformational teachings with others. They are skills that we can learn and practice, available to us all. What can feel like an unending path of growth, healing, and self-understanding is actually the deeply gratifying process of remembering and embodying what matters most. Conscious, mindful living is not one-size-fits-all — but some universal truths remain: Inner peace is your true nature. Experience is your greatest teacher. And love is who you truly are.
My greatest hope is in our waking up, together.
May we discover the power of inner transformation.
May we awaken the highest potential of our minds and hearts.
May we live with compassion and appreciation.
May we light the path towards our collective evolution.
And may all people experience kindness, healing, and freedom.
I look forward to walking the path with you.
With gratitude and warmth,
Katie
